Hilly village of Anni celebrated century-old five-day long religious fair. Fair was started on May 7. During the religious fair, devotees carried deities in palanquins and participating in traditional dances. The local deity-Lord Samshar Mahadev-led the procession. Thousands of villagers from the towns of Shimla, Kullu and Mandi gathered in Anni.
Anni fair was started the King Raghuveer Singh. It’s saying that Anni area was hit by the severe drought and king prayed to god for the rain. This fair is a mark of blessing and prosperity. During the fair, the village was adorned with colourful canopies, people were seen blowing trumpets and singing hymns in the fair.
