Gumma Engineering College

Shimla: The Jubbal-Kotkhai BJP has demanded an inquiry into the alleged damaging of boundary wall of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Engineering College near Gumma by the local congress leader.

In a press conference here today, Jubbal-Kotkhai BJP Mandal general secretary Umesh Sharma accused Congress leaders for illegally mining near the wall of Engineering College and blocking college road and dumping muck in the College ground.

Sharma also accused that the land mafia was active in the entire area around the engineering college and even the college authorities did not get an FIR registered as they were under tremendous political pressure.

He also accused the land mafia for illegally felling green trees and dumping muck into the nearby river in violations of all norms. Sharma claimed that heavy machinery were also being used illegally.

Jubbal-Kotkhai BJP Mandal asked administration to take action against culprit and threaten to lunch agitation if their demand doesn’t consider.

Umesh Sharma also expressed concern over the failure of the Congress regime to start work on the Theog-Hatkoti road even 18 months after assuming power. He said that Congress in its assembly election campaign had promised to repair Theog-Hatkoti road in 100 days but even after 18 months it has deteriorated further.

He asked the state government to repair road for the apple season, so that apple growers don’t face problem for its transportation.
