The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) declared result of class 10th. The overall pass percentage is 57.19 percent as about 1, 42,128 students had appeared for examinations and out of which 80,650 were declared successful, while 26,205 got the compartment.

Girls have again outshined boys in the exam as among the 34 students, who made it to the top ten, 20 are girls and 14 are boys.

Diksha Sharma of Bharti Vidyapeeth Public School Baijnath in Kangra district topped the exam by scoring 97.43% marks and Jatin Kanwar of Sarswati Vidya Mandir Sunni, Shimla and Preeti Chandel of Arayan Public School Bilaspur were jointly declared second with 97.28% marks each.

Nitika of Himalayan International School Fatehpur, Kangra and Prerna Kargil of Summer Hill Public School Lodhwan, Kangra stood joint third by scoring 97% marks, while Vaishali Sharma of Bhartiya Public School Jogindernagar, Mandi bagged the fourth position with 96.85 percent marks.

Government schools again failed to deliver as it could only bagged three top positions. The overall pass percentage this year also dipped to 57.19 compared to 61.16 in 2013.
