As a part of celebration of 150 years of Shimla, as former summer capital, the department of Language, Art and Culture together with department of Tourism and Civil Aviation is organising a week long theatre drama/ plays in the memory of famous theatre artist Manohar Singh in the historic Gaiety Theatre from 24th April, 2014 and will be inaugurated by the Governor Urmila Singh in the evening.

Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson said that ‘Manohar Singh Samriti Natya Samaroh’ would exhibit theatre shows directed by famous stage directors from all over India. As per schedule, ‘Khalid Ka Khala’ directed by Ramesh Talwar of National School of Drama (NSD) Repertory Company, New Delhi, would be performed on the opening day followed by the play titled ‘Ismat Aapke Naam’ by Naseerudin Shah of Motely Mumbai Group on 25th April, thereafter, ‘Aadamzaad/Panchlight’ by Ranjit Kapoor of NSD, Repertory Company, New Delhi, on 26th April 2014, ‘Mohe Piya’ by Vaman Kendre of Rangpeeth Group Mumbai on 27th April followed by ‘The License’ by Neelam Man Singh Chowdhary of The Company Group, Chandigarh and ‘Macbeth’ by Rattan Thiyam of Chorus Repertory Theatre, Imphal on 28th and 29th April respectively.

Acting Chief Justice of HP High Court, Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir would preside over the closing ceremony on 29th April, 2014.

The entry passes for the same were now available in Gaiety Theatre, Shimla on first come first serve basis.
