The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet in its Meeting held here today granted approval to adopt a Policy with regard to filling up of vacancies of teachers on period basis in tribal and notified backward areas through School Management Committees wherein local educated unemployed trained youth would be given preference.

Post Graduate Teachers teaching Plus One and Plus Two students will be given Rs. 150 per period and for teaching 9th and 10th classes Rs. 100 per period, Trained Graduate Teachers to get Rs. 100 per period with maximum of Rs. 6,000 per month, Shashtri and Language Teachers to get Rs. 75 per period subject to a maximum of Rs. 4,500 per month and JBTs to get Rs. 75 per period and a maximum of Rs. 3,500 per month. The decision will go a long way in generating employment avenues to the rural educated unemployed youth as also ensure adequate teaching facilities to the students in difficult and remote areas.
