Chief Minister, who was schedule to attend the 6th General Conference of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited Technical Association at Hamirpur, but could not attend it due to bad weather, addressed the employees through telephonic message today. He announced that the employees of State Electricity Board would also get 10 percent of the arrear pending on account of the revision of pay scale along with employees of the State Government next month.

Chief Minister also announced that all 16 categories of Technical nature given enhancement of Rs. 150 in the Grade Pay by the Punjab State Electricity Board would also be given by the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board thereby benefitting each employee by Rs. 228 per month.

Chief Minister also announced grant of Rs. one crore for Benevolent Fund of the State Electricity Board.

Chief Minister lauded the role played by the technical employees of the State Electricity Board to ensure electricity in every nook and corner of the State despite difficult topography and working conditions.

Reiterating his Government’s resolve for the welfare of the employees of State, Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal said that despite limited resources, his Government had given various benefits to its employees from time to time. He urged the employees to work with dedication and devotion to serve the people.

Chief Parliamentary Secretary Satpal Singh Satti said that the State Government had decided to release a grant of Rs. 166 crore to HPSEB to provide concession in electricity bills of domestic and agriculture consumers. He said that BPL consumers were being provided electricity on concessional rates. He said that main industrial areas of the State were being provided an enhanced power supply of 1350 MW from 350 MW in order to ensure quality power supply to the industrial consumers.

Urmil Thakur, MLA lauded the contribution of employees of HPSEB and urged them to work sincerely in the interest of the people of the State. Dev Raj Sharma, President, Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited Technical Association read out the demands of the employees. Prominent persons of the Hamripur district and senior officers of the HPSEB Limited were present on the occasion.
