Horticulture Minister Narender Bragta declares that State Government has provided Rs. 34 Crore to the Himfed and HPMC to clear the payments of apple growers for the apple procured under Market Intervention Scheme (MIS). Bragta also added that an announcement to provide Rs. 10 Crore to clear the outstanding amount was made by him last week, which had been released today. With this the state government has now released Rs. 34 Crore till date for clearing the outstanding amount under MIS. He directed the officials to make the payments to the growers immediately.

He said that the payments up to Rs. 5000 under MIS had already been cleared and added that instructions had been issued to clear the outstanding payment upto Rs. 10,000 to all apple growers immediately.

Minister’s announcement came after the recently Himachal Pradesh Apple Growers Association protest against the delayed payments.
