The second meeting of Cabinet Sub Committee constituted to review the report submitted by the H.P. High Power Committee for Administration of Temples was held under the chairmanship of IPH Minister Ravinder Singh Ravi. Health Minister Dr Rajiv Bindal and Rural Development Minister Jai Ram Thakur are Members of the Committee also attended it.

Ravi informed that on the recommendation of the High Power Committee, State level ”Dharamsthal Parishad” will constitute for governing the administration of the temples of the state. He said that the committee had submitted a detailed report regarding amendment of section 29 of Scheduled Temples taken over by the Government under provisions of H.P. Hindu Public Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowment Act 1984. He further said that regarding de-notifying and acquiring of temples, the Cabinet Sub Committee has decided to seek the technical report from concerned Temple Commissioner and added that local committees would be constituted by the local administration to involve wider public participation.

Dr Rajiv Bindal suggested developing herbal gardens in such temple premises which have large open spaces and asked LAC Department to submit project to Ayurveda Department. Whereas Jai Ram Thakur stressed upon taking opinion of local people while deciding on de notifying or acquisition of temples.

Principal Secretary, Language, Art and Culture Manisha Nanda, Dr Prem Sharma, Director, Language, Art and Culture and Prem Prasad Pandit, OSD Temple Administration also attended the meeting.
