Shimla: In the 242nd meeting of Board of Directors of State Industrial Development Corporation here today, Mukesh Agnihotri Industries Minister disclosed that the State Government contemplating to develops industrial area at Targani near Jubbar Hatti in Shimla District for which the State Industrial Development Corporation has identified about 400 bighas of land.
Agnihotri said that about 400 bigha of well connected land has been identified and State Government would explore possibilities to develop an Information Technology Hub to promote setting up of environment friendly industries in this area. He said that the Industrial Development Corporation has earned net profit of Rs. 244.52 lakh during the current year. He said that development of industrial estate at Davni near Baddi in Solan district was being pursued in right earnest.
Industries Minister said that the State Industries Corporation has sanctioned loans to the tune of Rs. 159.02 crore to 222 units out of which Rs. 158.69 crore loans had been disbursed.

Director Industries Rajender Singh, Managing Director State Financial Corporation Ajay Bhandari, Special Secretary, Finance Rajesh Sharma, Director Board of Directors Parmod Sharma and other members of BoD attended the meeting.
In another meeting of the Board of Directors of Himachal Pradesh State Handicraft and Handlooms Corporation, Agnihotri said that the State Handicraft and Handlooms Corporation has registered a cumulative sale of Rs. 1648.97 lakh during the current year till date. He said that thus the Corporation has registered an increase in sale of Rs. 190.03 lakh as compared to the Rs. 1458.94 lakh sale registered during the corresponding period of last year. He said that the corporation was running about 40 training centers in different crafts through out the state and it was planning to open 29 centers shortly.
Industries Minister said that Development Commissioner Handicraft Union Ministry of Textiles has sponsored five exhibitions which were organised at Agra, Varanasi, Luknow, Jaipur, Hisar and Udaipur. Similarly one Gandhi Shilp Bazar was also organised at Una recently.
Agnihotri said that one Silk Wavers Cluster Project has been sanctioned by the Government of India for Ghumarwin in Bilspur District. He said that the total outlay of this project was Rs. 52.45 lakh and this project would benefit over 238 weavers families. Managing Director, State Handicraft and Handlooms Corporation Shri A.C. The Board of Directors of the H.P. General Industries Corporation also held its 190th meeting and Agnihotri stated that the Corporation has earned a net profit of Rs. 368.87 lakh during the current financial year till September 2013 by effectively executing various activities during this period.
Agnihotri said that the Corporation would prepare its own bottles for its country liquor bottling plants at Mehatpur in Una District and Parwanoo in Solan District. He said that this would not only help in better marketing of its product but would also enhance brand value of the product. He said that a cork making unit would also be set up in the State soon. He said that the General Industries Corporation should diversify its activities in order to earn better profit.
It was decided in the meeting that Home Guard personnel would be deployed on security duty at Country Liquor Bottling Plant at Mehatpur and Parwanoo as per requirement. Managing Director, H.P. General Industries Corporation B.R. Verma conducted the proceedings of the meeting.
