Chamba: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today launched the ‘Mukhyamantri Alpsankhayak Kalyan Yojana’ for ensuring welfare of the minority section of the society.

Under Mukhyamantri Alpsankhayak Kalyan Yojana marriage grant of Rs. 25000 would be provided to the girls belonging to poor Muslim families, Rs. 5000 financial assistance would be provided for medical treatment to poor Muslim family and social security pension of Rs. 400 per month would be provided to old, widows and physically challenged Muslim persons being given through Waqf board.

Jai Ram Thakur said the minority section of the State has played an important role in the development of the State. Chief Minister said the State Government would also provide adequate space for burial ground (Kabristan) of the Muslims communities and all the Deputy Commissioners would be asked to identify adequate land.

The Chief Minister announced to construct Gujjar Bhawan in Chamba as soon as suitable land was identified.
