Director Census Balbir Tegta, presents a set of books containing census data, titled “Census of India 2011, Provisional Population totals”, to Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal. Tegta briefed the census data to Chief Minister and also detailed the performance of the State in literacy, women sex-ratio and female child sex-ratio (0-6) years, in the State. The sex-ratio of the State was much better as compared to National ratio, particularly the sex-ratio of female child from 0-6 years of age, which has improved invariably from previous census and was far better than the National ratio. Performance of Hamirpur in literacy and sex ratio was at the top with respect to other districts of the State and much higher as compared to National Level.
